Vivian Hamer of Interior Expressions by Vivian recently did all of the design work
for an advertising agency that was moving to larger offices. When the agency took
possession of the office, they were working with a cement slab and a large open
space. Within the office configuration, they designed two production centers for
the graphic designers. Given that the advertising agency does fabulous design and
artwork, Vivian knew that the artwork for the office should be big, bold and colorful.
With that in mind, Vivian searched the internet to find some large murals. "I
found muralsyourway.com, which was very user friendly. I found three great murals
by the artist, Matthew Lew: "Hawaii
Grass", "Hawaii
Grass II" and "Red
Green". I knew that these would be perfect for the two production
centers."
Vivian ordered a 6ft x 4ft mural of each image. With the huge stretch of wall that
they had to cover, they decided to cut the murals in pieces to spread them out across
the wall. "We obtained mdf (medium-density fiberboard) panels, which the carpenter
cut to accommodate the mural pieces. He then beveled the edges of the mdf panels
and painted them black. The wall paper installer pasted the murals onto the mdf
panels and mounted the boards on cleats on the wall, giving the effect of them floating
off the wall. They came out fabulous!"
"Once the project was completed, we held a grand opening open house for all
of the customers from the advertising agency. We had a few hundred people come through
and the office (most especially the murals) got rave reviews! Everyone loved them!
I will certainly use your company again. The product is very good quality, your
service was great and I had a couple of follow up calls from you to see how the
project went. I would definitely recommend you to others and look forward to using
your murals again on another design project!"
