Greetings! This is Alex, the graphic designer over here at Murals Your Way. This is my first guest post, but it shan’t be my last. Click on Alex’s Design Corner in our category list for future design & trend-inspired posts in the future.
It’s springtime in Minnesota, and as such I am thrilled to be talking about one of my favorite design trends: flowers! If it were up to me, I would draw them day in and out. Luckily, the rest of the world seems to be getting on board. Floral prints are invading every industry from fabric design to clothing… to wallpaper.
Alongside so many nature-inspired patterns that are blossoming in 2015, the classic style of early twentieth century floral prints are coming back. I see them most commonly contrasted with the clean lines and simplicity of contemporary design. In the photo above, one of our floral murals makes quite a bold statement. The retro chair, neutral bed frame and light linens are complementary, but have nowhere near the complexity of the pattern.
Here we have another pattern, but this is a much more modern approach. Hand drawn by our artist, Cindy Ann Ganaden, it’s exclusive to our image gallery. Part of why this is so successful is the scale of it. This piece is much larger than what you could do with typical wallpaper (and that’s a big part of why I love it)!
Just for fun, I’ll close with a batch of my new favorites. (Click on each to see a larger image and product details on our site.) Thanks for reading!
