Edward Miller is a well-regarded illustrator within the children’s book industry and known for his distinct art and design styles. His highly acclaimed books have been published by leading publishing companies such as Scholastic and Harper Collins. He is the creator and founder of Edward Elementary, specializing in teaching tools, books, art, and other inspiring items created especially for children. His hope is that his designs will inspire and foster children’s imaginations and make their environments fun and cheerful places to learn and grow.
After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Miller’s work experience began in book publishing. As a graphic designer, he was responsible for book layouts, typography, and production at Crown and Scholastic Publishing. He moved up to associate art director at Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers at Random House.
In 1996, Edward launched his design studio, Ed Miller Design. This allowed him to focus on children’s book writing and illustration. His books have been published by Harry N. Abrams, Henry Holt, Scholastic, Holiday House, and HarperCollins. His books are highly acclaimed and have been translated into foreign languages. Edward is well regarded within the children’s book industry and is known for his distinct art and design styles.
Besides children’s books, Edward Miller’s work has appeared on greeting cards for MoMA, Peaceable Kingdom, and Design Design; tee shirts for the New York Central Park Zoo; fabrics for Timeless Treasures and Robert Kaufmann; murals for Murals Your Way; art prints for Oopsy Daisy and Little Collectors; and tattoos for Tattly Tattoos.
Edward currently lives in New York City. In his spare time, he designs and paints murals for New York City public schools.
