Hi there. Alex here. As luck would have it, I’ve been brought in once more to talk about things I adore: plants! If you ask me, one cannot have too many plants in their living or workspace.
Some of my recent acquisitions include a yucca plant as tall as me (but sharper), 6 tiny little cacti I picked up in Arizona, and a mother in law tongue for my plant-lover in training. I was recently accused of having brought “an 800% increase in plant life” to my new home (which will surely oxygenate my housemate’s mind properly so he can see how lucky he is to have them!).
Silliness aside… succulents have taken interior design and the DIY realm by storm. Terrariums are everywhere, made of antique and modern vessels alike. When you consider this alongside the environmental movement—it only makes sense that we see more and more greenery and organic elements in our decor.
A cool, soothing color palette is a great choice for this bathroom. Clean feelings! According to this article from the University of Minnesota,
“…viewing scenes of nature reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing, reducing blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, and the production of stress hormones.”
There you have it! Validation!
This depth of field shot of a Sword Fern makes me really happy too. It’s stimulating and vibrant in color, yet at the same time possesses a tranquil serenity.
Once more I will close with a few more murals. There are countless, but here’s a sampling of our newer images. Thanks for reading!
