Company Background

Rosa Santiago Zimmerman is the visionary Founder and CEO of RSZ Design + Development, a premier turn-key firm specializing in interior design, residential construction, and project management. With over 27 years of experience, she has built a reputation for excellence, leading a woman-owned, bilingual, and Latina-led business that values creativity, collaboration, and craftsmanship. Known for her grit and passionate leadership, Rosa has cultivated strong industry partnerships and assembled a talented team dedicated to transforming spaces into functional and meaningful works of art.

In addition to RSZ Design + Development, Rosa expands her impact through Build with Rosa, a dynamic lifestyle brand that blends design, construction, and storytelling. Through her YouTube channel, social media platforms, and bilingual children’s book—Rosita’s Design Adventures – Las Aventuras de Diseño de Rosita—she makes design fun, accessible, and inspiring for all ages.

Her book follows Rosita, a spirited Puerto Rican girl, on creative adventures that introduce children to design concepts, teamwork, and cultural identity, inspiring them to see the world as a place of limitless possibilities. Through her engaging content, Rosa empowers DIYers, design enthusiasts, and young dreamers to tackle challenges, embrace creativity, and turn their ideas into reality.

Whether leading high-end design projects, mentoring the next generation, or sharing her expertise with bilingual audiences, Rosa’s mission remains the same: to inspire, uplift, and prove that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible.

How RSZ Design + Development Uses Murals

According to Rosa, "We love accent walls and we especially love using art to tell a story, set the mood, or spark immediate conversation in a home. For our clients, a home’s purpose is to foster connection and meaningful, heartfelt interactions. Murals do exactly that. Their beauty draws people in, invites admiration, sparks conversation, and creates moments of shared experience. And because our goal is to design spaces our clients love to live in, murals and statement wallpapers like these perfectly serve that purpose."

Our customers are relationship-driven individuals who live with purpose and intention. They seek quality and want to bring their vision to life through aesthetics that align with their lifestyle. They’re emotionally invested in building a relationship with our firm; they want trust, transparency, and a process rooted in facts and efficiency. Ultimately, they value a smooth journey with outstanding results. Rosa’s business mantra is “Creating spaces you'll LOVE to live in!” She and her team have worked with Murals Your Way on numerous projects to use wallpaper murals to create spaces her clients love to live in. Here we highlight four of her projects.

Project Name: Green with Envy (DTL)

Describe your project:
This is the client’s main home. She owns 67 acres of farmland nearby where she spends a lot of time outdoors, tending to her many animals, farming, foraging, practicing yoga, and intentionally connecting with Mother Earth to find her center. For her in-house yoga room, she wanted to bring that same outdoor experience indoors.

As you enter, you see her favorite poem on the wall, and the room is wrapped in a forest mural. The stair landing was added later. One day, Rosa noticed how the light hit the wall and thought it would be the perfect spot for a mural. Rosa picked one with foliage to match the natural light and surprised her with it. Her husband’s home office was designed to reflect his background in engineering from UGA, using a mural that mimicked electric schematics with a vintage look.

There was instant synergy. The client was easy to work with, trusted the process, and communicated openly, if she didn’t like something, she said so. That kind of relationship made the creative process smooth and enjoyable.

What was the goal of the project?
Ambiance/Atmosphere

Which material did you use?
For the Green With Envy project, we used Eco Bella Texture; a perfect choice for a high-traffic, entertainment-focused environment. We chose it because it offers both durability and commercial-grade quality.

Who installed your murals?
Shield Wallcoverings installed the murals.

The Reveal:

The Results:

Our customers loved the addition of the murals. The most surprising element was how deeply nature, especially the presence of forests, was infused into every corner of the home.

This is our second project with the client so we had earned the client's trust. She loved that the house felt like it was designed just for them, with every detail thought through. The clients were in awe of how intentional everything felt and couldn’t stop talking about how personal it all was.

Project Name: The Blue House (Braselton Project)

Describe your project:
This was the first home the clients decided to fully personalize, they moved from place to place and decided this would be their forever home. The husband is a gym fanatic, so they built a home gym inspired by his time at the University of Georgia. It features architectural plans from the school and includes a quote from Harry Potter that was meaningful to their late son.

The guest bedroom was designed with the daughter in mind and has a mural with sunset beach colors, tying in their love for the ocean and purple, which was their son’s favorite color.

The office nook features a mural of their favorite resort in Aruba, which was a surprise from the wife to the husband.

They also asked for a bathroom just for their two golden doodles. The mural in that space shows dogs sitting on a beachside porch that looks almost exactly like the porch at their vacation home.

The family lived just a block away from Rosa and found her on Houzz. When they met, they realized they were neighbors. From the start, communication was easy and honest. There was mutual trust, and being nearby made the collaboration even smoother.

What was the goal of the project?
Ambiance/Atmosphere

Which material did you use?
We used both EcoBella - Texture in the gym, guest bedroom, office nook and LumaLuxe in the dog’s bathroom in the basement.

The Reveal:

The Results:

Our customers LOVE the addition to their home. They cried when the project was done. It had taken longer than expected due to supply chain issues, but every detail felt worth it. This was their forever home, and they were overwhelmed with how personal and meaningful each room turned out.

Project Name: Wonderland (Buford Project)

Describe your project:
This was all about creating a fun and functional entertainment space. The clients are Eastern European and wanted a hookah lounge, a gym, and a music room.

The lounge included a bar, space for watching TV, and a place for hookah. It was meant to be an adult space, with the occasional visit from the kids. They wanted bold colors, textures, and patterns. Because of the symbolism, Rosa introduced the Alice in Wonderland mural featuring the caterpillar smoking hookah as a feature wall in the project. The client’s found the whimsical addition of this accent wall pure perfection.

The music room was for the husband to unwind and play music.

The gym included a steam shower and workout equipment.

These clients were clear, communicative, and had a strong vision. Rosa knew right away it would be a smooth collaboration. Plus, they were located close to her, which helped with coordination. If there’s no creative synergy, Rosa doesn’t take on the project and they had it from the start.

What was the goal of the project?
Ambiance/Atmosphere

Which material did you use?
We used the EcoBella - Texture since it would be used for a high traffic entertaining environment. It's very durable and commercial grade quality.

They loved how everything turned out. They had a clear vision, and Rosa brought it to life with all the textures, colors, and small details. They were especially excited about how unique the lounge felt and how the space fit their lifestyle perfectly.

Project Name: WARNING! Drool Zone! (Clermont Project)

Describe your project:
This was the client’s forever home, and they wanted every space to be long-lasting and well thought out. The HER bathroom was meant to feel like a peaceful, feminine spa. We worked with MYW to invert the pattern from the tile and turn it into a custom mural for the wall. Every detail in that room was picked with her in mind. The powder room was designed to be fun and memorable for guests. Rosa added a whimsical mural of a wildflower to spark conversation and bring the outdoors in.

The clients were committed to making this their forever home and wanted it done right. They gave her full creative trust.

What was the goal of the project?
Ambiance/Atmosphere

Which material did you use?
We used EcoBella - Texture since it's perfect for high traffic entertaining areas. It's also very durable and is commercial grade quality.

Who installed your murals?
Hired an installer.

The Results:

The project lasted 18 months and covered a lot of ground. When it was finished, the clients were happy with how everything turned out and excited to enjoy their home. It was a big project, and they were ready to start living in the space they’d waited so long for.

Why RSZ Design + Development Uses Murals

We love a good accent wall, especially when it uses art to tell a story, set the vibe, or spark conversation. For our clients, home is all about connection and meaningful moments. Murals do just that. They pull you in, get people talking, and create shared experiences. And since our goal is to design spaces our clients truly love living in, murals and statement wallpapers like these fit right in.

Prospective clients always mention how much they love the personal touches we bring to our projects. We hear things like, “You’re not afraid of wallpaper and murals, huh?” and honestly, we love that. It means our bold design choices are standing out and showing people that we’re not afraid to be intentional, creative, and willing to bring the vision for their homes, to life!

"MYW is an easy choice when it comes to murals and wallpaper for your home or business. Their attention to detail and great customer service always make us look good to our clients. They go above and beyond EVERY time that’s why we keep coming back." ~ Rosa
