The "Home Town Takeover" series on HGTV, starring Ben and Erin Napier, showcased the renovation of Sophie's Cafe in Sebring, Florida. This cafe, previously a Salvation Army Chapel, was thoughtfully restored to highlight its Cuban cuisine and original architectural elements.
Ben and Erin emphasized the building’s historic features, such as the original oak floors and light fixtures, while celebrating the restaurant's Cuban heritage with woven light fixtures, cane-back chairs, and a family legacy wall of photographs. These elements blend beautifully with the creamy walls, vintage blue wainscoting and vintage-inspired jungle wall mural creating an inviting and historically rich atmosphere.
Ben and Erin chose the Monkey Sanctuary Wall Mural to add a colorful jungle accent wall to reinforce the cafe's theme.
Sophie's cafe looks to be a smashing success given the crowds on opening day.
