With the help of a friend and a couple hours on your hands, you can easily and quickly install a Murals Your Way wall mural! Simply follow the instructions included with your mural. You can also reference the instructions for each material listed below and on their respective page. Videos are also provided below.
2. Use An Installer
You can choose to hire a professional installer.
3. Hire Murals Your Way To Install
We now offer installation services when you purchase a wall mural or wallpaper through Murals Your Way. We have created a network of professional installers across the United States. - Prepare Your Wall
- Start with a smooth, clean surface. If painting, use a flat latex paint or primer at least 72 hours prior. (See Primer & Adhesive Recommendations for specific information)
- Remove hooks, light fixtures, and plates; fill cracks and holes with spackling compound and sand until smooth.
- Mural Installation
- We recommend that two people install the mural together.
- Lay out your mural panels before installing to ensure panel order.
- Do not pre-trim your mural.
- Make guidelines on the wall.
- Apply paste to each mural panel.
- Smooth panels onto the wall.
- Trim overage & remove excess paste.

- Be sure to start with a smooth, clean surface.
- Remove hooks, light fixtures, and plates; fill cracks and holes with spackling compound and sand until smooth.
- Mural Installation
- We recommend that two people install the mural together.
- Lay out your mural panels before installing to ensure panel order.
- Do not pre-trim your mural.
- Make guidelines on the wall.
- Activate paste by spraying a fine mist of clean water to the pasted surface.
- Smooth panels onto the wall.
- DO NOT cut the overlap. Cutting the overlap my result in seams separating.
- Trim overage.

Can I install a mural myself?
Yes! Most of our wall murals are designed for easy DIY installation using peel-and-stick or prepasted materials. We also provide detailed instructions with every order.
Are your murals removable without damage?
Yes. All of our materials are fully removable and won't damage your walls if removed properly, making them great for renters, home owners and commercial spaces.
What tools do I need for installation?
You’ll just need a squeegee, utility knife, measuring tape, and a clean surface for all of our materials - unless your material requires paste - then you will need that as well.
