Born in Quebec, Canada in 1943, Charles White displayed a very early interest in art by drawing wildlife in pencil and ink at age six. By age 12, he was painting landscapes in oils, and sold many throughout his teenage years.Deciding to further his artistic talents and business skills, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, graduating with a BA in 1967. His more than 50 years of painting experience are evident in his paintings of gardens and landscapes, which capture nature’s essence by mastering the radiant interplay of light and shadow, while instilling a sense of tranquility. His exacting technique creates a luminous multi-layered work that invites the viewer into timeless beauty. That he connects with his audience is evidenced by the sale of more than 9,000 originals and prints in the last 20 years. He is featured as one of America’s favorite artists by Hadley House Publishing, and has been the subject of many newspaper and national art magazine articles. His images have been licensed by dozens of national corporations and book publishers, including Bradford Exchange, Pine Ridge Art, Taylor Cards, Cathedral Press and National Wildlife Federation.
