Renowned landscape photographer James Randklev has pursued his unique portrayals of nature for more than 40 years. Born and raised on Washington State’s rugged Olympic Peninsula, his relationship with the natural environment began as a child and culminated with a degree in zoology from the University of Washington. While working as a seasonal park ranger at Olympic National Park, he discovered photography as a way to capture his experiences and enlighten others about environmental protection. Randklev’s photography has authored 15 books as well as hundreds of calendars both in the U.S. and abroad. Some of Randklev’s book titles include In Nature’s Heart: The Wilderness Days of John Muir; Wild and Scenic Florida; Olympic National Park Impressions; Georgia Unforgettable; Georgia Images of Wildness; Bryce Canyon National Park Impressions. Randklev has received the Photography Gold Medal from the New York Art Directors Club and in 2003, was selected to be included in a book entitled World’s Top Landscape Photographers and the Stories Behind Their Greatest Images by Roto Vision Publications, London, England.
