This is a 3 image aerial panoramic of the little town of Castelrotto. The large-scale community of Castelrotto comprises numerous picturesque villages between Valle Isarco, Valgardena and Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites. The mighty church steeple of the chief village of Castelrotto emphasises the aspiration of the municipality to administer a large-scale area. In fact, Castelrotto stretches from S. Osvaldo on the slope above the Valle Isarco to the border of the Val di Fassa in the high-alpine area between the Sciliar, Catinaccio and the Sassolungo mountain range. Also the southernmost part of the Valgardena valley, up to S. Cristina, belongs to the municipal territory of Castelrotto, even if the localities of Bulla and Oltretorrente are often considered to be part of Ortisei.
